Salt Scrub Tonight-Gramma's Time Out!

I've Blogged about "Scrubs" before, after I purchased a Sugar Scrub for a gift. I have not used a Sugar Scrub, but I want to blog about the Salt Scrub I do use.
I am looking forward to a Salt Scrub tonight. I highly recommend this product. I found it at a local health food store in Kissimmee. I know you can find it online, too. How I use it, is fill my tub for soaking, I like my water very warm/hot. Begin with a gob of Scrub and go over all my skin surfaces, including feet with gentle circular motion. Afterward, the salt rinses away in the water, and I soak in this mineral rich, oil rich water for a while. Last I drain the tub, while in it and rinse with fresh water over all. Carefully get out, slippery. Dry off--don't forget to clean the tub to remove the oil from surfaces. My 53 year skin will be baby smooth and satiny soft for 2 or 3 weeks. One of the best things I do for my skin, for sure.
I have a picture of the product I use below. I could not find a website for the company, but they make other herbal products, too.
My jar has Dead Sea Salt in it. I know there is concern for the harvesting of Salt from the Dead Sea area being depleated. I also saw, this product made with Celtic sea salt, too.

Here is a list of the ingredients in this jar:
Sea salt, expeller pressed almond oil, high oliec safflower oil, sunflower seed oil, grapeseed oil, lavender oil, apricot kernel oil, avocado oil, celtic sea salts, Peppermint Oil Rosemary Oil, Green Tea Leaf , Hibiscus Flower, Neem Leaf, Natural Vitamin E.
For a homemade Scrub, I found a recipe online. Sounds lovely and do-able, as these ingredients should not be too hard to locate. I find essential oils at the health food store. Looks like Almond Oil is a popular ingredient in the scrubs, too.
Lavender Salt Scrub
2 tablespoons dried lavender
2 cups sea salt
1/2 cup sweet almond oil
1/2 cup light olive oil
1 teaspoon vitamin E oil , ( you could use Vitamin E capsule oil)
2 drops lavender essential oil
Crush the lavender in a mortar with a pestle. Mix together with salt and oils. While standing in a tub, work the salt paste into skin. Be careful as the oil can make the tub slippery. Place a towel in the tub if needed. Rinse in warm water.
I found the recipe on a web site called, Ruby's Emporiam. I have been poking around and looking at some of her links on health info, too. Some interesting things.

Just a note Suz, Thanksgiving is the family, even the NYers as it looks like we will be losing my dad in the next week or two. Look for an email from me in the next day or so. Miss you so much, Love Lori
